Part Three: The Background

When I got the idea for the picture, I knew I wanted Inuyasha and Kagome standing on a hilltop enjoying a sunset or sunrise. I confess, one of the reasons I wanted them to be standing in tall grasses is because I suck at drawing feet. The grass was made with me playing with various "nature" brushes available in Photoshop. |

Then I added the trees behind them as dark shapes. |

I then added three different mountain layers in the background. You can see them individually in the Layers bar at the bottom right of the screen. |

I did the sky behind all the other layers, and added a few more mountain shapes among the clouds. I used the blur tool to make them look softer than the closer mountains. |

Then I added the rays of light as a separate layer. I learned how to do the rays effect from another Photoshop tutorial. (See below for link.) |
