A friend of mine asked me to act in his student film. I decided to do it even though I'm really not a good actor at all. Actually, terrible would be a better description. We did most of the filming for my scenes last night, and I really feel that I did poorly, but it's an amateur production, and he was really nice about it, so I won't worry about it too much. It was kind of fun. I really like his script. It's funny and original, and really shows his creativity. He also makes anime music videos. He doesn't have any of them up on the internet yet, but he brings them to club, and they really are as good as just about any that I've seen online. He won an award at one of the conventions we went to last year. We're going to be going to AnimeFEST again this year, (which I'm really excited about. It's my favorite con so far.) and I'm sure that they'll do well in the music video contest there as well.
Yes, this does mean that Krista is in charge of the fanfiction panel and contest this year. I'll be helping with the panel and probably also the judging for the contest again as well. I don't know yet who else will be on the panel, but the last two times the discussion has been ... lively. ^^;

I'm trying. I really am. I know I'm going to make powerful enemies saying this, but I DON'T GET X! I finally got ahold of the first six graphic novels and I've been reading them and re-reading them, and I just can't understand what all the fuss is about. I mean, yeah, the guys are hot, but it's sooooo boring! It's save the world, save the world, crush people, death, destruction, and almost no effort at character developement. I mean, I love CLAMP too, and Tokyo Babylon rocked my world, but X just isn't doing it for me. Perhaps the problem was the buildup. I've been anxious to find a relatively spoiler free way to read it for nearly two years, so it might just be that it isn't what I was expecting. It's Angel Sanctuary, but not as cool. Maybe it gets better in later volumes. I hope it does. I have a lot of friends who swear by it. I respect their opinion in many things.
Anyway, now that I've gotten that piece of flamebait out of my system, I have really enjoyed reading Hikaru no Go, and Honshin Engi these last few weeks. Manga scans are cool.
