Shameless Name Dropping

Why are my posts always so long? I mean, occasionally there are one or two sentence posts, but for the most part, all my blog entries are pages and pages long. I think that might be part of why I only write every couple of months. The other blogs I've seen are mostly written by people who do short entries at least a couple of times a week, but since my posts are like 'The Iliad,' and take a lot out of me, I end up only writing occasionally. I guess I usually feel like I just don't have anything to say that anyone wants to hear.

Tonight I REALLY don't have anything to say. I'm tired and I'm more unhappy than I've been in a really long time, and I guess this could be a tool to help me feel better, but I don't want to assume too much and make something out of nothing, and I DEFINITELY don't want to point fingers. I feel like I'm ten years old and no one came to my birthday party, for the love of all that's holy. Nothing really happened. Why am I so upset?

Must be the influence of Mars.

No, I don't really believe all that stuff. I'm just tired. I haven't slept well for two weeks, and I have to be on a plane at 7:45 in the morning, and I've spent the last two days much too hyper about this trip, and I'm upset that a dear friend is moving to Florida this weekend. That's why I'm so down now. And taking little things so hard.

So I went to a very cool concert tonight. 'Peter Breinholt and the Big Parade.' And when I was telling Noelle about it before hand, she started telling me about a band she likes called 'Ryan Shupe and the Rubber Bands' and lo and behold ... they were there! Two of their members are also members of 'Big Parade,' and they played three of their numbers including the banjo one that Noelle was telling me she liked so much. It was very cool. Even with the heavy mandolin and fiddle influence, none of their numbers even REMOTELY resemble country music. I can't really describe Breinholt's overall style except to say that it's a folkish upbeat acoustic that's very cool. I got to be there with Kurt and Chrysalis and my friend Jenni and her family and a couple of her friends whom I hadn't met before. Her son Max is adorable. I think he's two.

The concert got over at 9:10.

And now it's late, and I have to finish packing for my trip to Dallas for an anime convention. I'll feel better when I get there and buy some manga.
